Aurora, Ill. — The City of Aurora Government announced yesterday that the Aurora City Council unanimously elected two women for government positions. Yordana Wysocki will serve as the city’s new Chief Legal Officer. Alison Lindburg has been appointed as the city’s first-ever Director of Sustainability.

Wysocki will provide day-to-day legal counsel to Aurora city officials and upper city management. Her work will include reviewing contracts and other legal agreements, drafting and negotiating on behalf of the city, giving legal opinions and representing the city in legal actions.

Wysocki previously served as a partner at Hervas, Condon & Bersani, P.C. The law firm specialized in local government law and litigation. She is also the incoming chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Local Government Section Council and a current member of The Legacy Project.

Lindburg, as the city’s first-ever Director of Sustainability, will lead Aurora’s sustainability efforts. She will be responsible for planning, programming and regional partnerships. Lindburg will establish a city-wide sustainability plan in her new role and create a public bank or green investment mechanism for financing sustainability projects, both large and small. She will also propose updates to existing city ordinances or make new ones to promote sustainability.

Lindburg previously worked at the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance as the Director of Building Codes and Policy. She also currently serves on the Illinois Energy Code Advisory Council, the Illinois Building Energy Hub Advisory Board, the Chicago Sustainable Development Policy Committee, and the International Code Sustainability Membership Council.
