ATLANTA, Ga. – Metro Atlanta will start the week under cloudy skies with scattered showers and isolated storms, keeping temperatures slightly cooler than average. Highs on Monday will range from 80 to 85 degrees before climbing later in the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, widespread cloud cover and rain showers are likely Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-80s. By Wednesday, more sunshine will return, but so will the risk of scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms, especially across north and central Georgia.
The latter half of the week will trend hotter, with highs nearing the low 90s by Friday and continuing through the weekend. Each afternoon from Thursday through Sunday carries a chance for isolated thunderstorms, meaning outdoor plans could be briefly interrupted.
Drivers should watch for slick roads during heavier downpours and limit time outdoors during lightning activity. Afternoon heat and humidity will also increase, so hydration will be key for outdoor workers and eventgoers.
Storm chances are expected to persist into early next week, with updated advisories possible in the coming days.
