Atlanta, GA – A cool weekend is in store for Atlanta residents, with sunny skies on Sunday and rain likely to begin Monday morning. Temperatures will warm midweek, offering a break from the damp start to the week.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight will bring increasing clouds and a low near 31°F with calm winds. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 53°F as winds pick up slightly in the afternoon. By Sunday night, rain chances increase to 80%, with light showers expected after midnight. Overnight lows will settle around 39°F.

Rain is likely Monday morning, tapering off by early afternoon. Highs will reach 51°F under mostly cloudy skies. Rainfall totals are expected to stay under a quarter inch, but slick roads may still pose hazards during commutes. Monday night will remain mostly cloudy, with lows near 35°F.

Sunny skies return Tuesday, with a high near 59°F, and partly cloudy conditions are forecast for Tuesday night. By Wednesday, temperatures will climb to 64°F, though there’s a 40% chance of showers in the afternoon.

Drivers on I-85 and I-285 should allow extra travel time Monday morning and prepare for wet roads. Keep an umbrella handy through midweek and enjoy the sunnier days ahead.
