Athens, OH – A Wednesday traffic stop on East Park Drive led to multiple drug-related arrests after deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office allegedly discovered suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine during a K9 search.

According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred October 15, 2025, when a K9 Unit attempted to stop a vehicle in Athens. A backseat passenger, identified as Brady Terry, allegedly tried to flee but was detained after K9 Cody was deployed.

Sheriff Rodney Smith said K9 Cody alerted deputies to narcotics during a free-air sniff of the vehicle. A search reportedly uncovered suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, and various drug paraphernalia.

Brady Terry, 29, was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on charges of trafficking in drugs (F4) and possession of drugs (F4). He was also held on active warrants for failure to appear and intimidation. Tracy Terry, 49, was taken into custody on similar trafficking and possession charges, along with an obstruction count.

Two additional suspects, identified as Nancy Barr and Ashton Carter, also face felony drug possession and obstruction charges. All evidence was sent to the BCI Crime Lab for analysis, and charges are being pursued through the Athens County Grand Jury.

Sheriff Smith thanked the Athens Police Department and the Adult Parole Authority for assisting during the stop.
