Ashippun, Wisconsin – A 41-year-old driver was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday on County Highway P near Harding Road in the Town of Ashippun.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 6:55 a.m. Feb. 15 to a report of an injury crash.
Investigators said a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on County Highway P when it gradually entered the paved shoulder. The vehicle’s passenger side allegedly struck a guardrail, then drove along it briefly before beginning a counterclockwise yaw across both lanes of traffic. The truck reportedly entered a driveway, became airborne over the entrance, landed on a steep slope and struck a tree.
The driver, a 41-year-old man from Oconomowoc, sustained possible life-threatening injuries and was transported to Aurora Summit Hospital by Western Lakes Paramedics. Authorities said no other occupants were inside the vehicle.
The Ashippun Fire Department, Western Lakes Fire Department and Western Lakes Paramedics assisted at the scene. The driver’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
The crash remains under investigation.
