Caribou, ME – Light snow showers may linger across central Maine this afternoon before conditions clear out later this evening. Forecasters say the region will see mostly dry weather with seasonable temperatures through Tuesday, aside from some Monday coastal showers and a few isolated snow showers farther north.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, the start of the week will remain calm before two separate storm systems move in just ahead of Thanksgiving. The first wave is expected Wednesday, bringing rain across much of Maine and the potential for light snow across far northern areas.
A second system is forecast to arrive Wednesday night into Thursday, bringing another round of rain statewide. Some snow may mix in across northern zones on Thursday as colder air filters in. Light snow showers may linger late in the week, especially Friday and Saturday, after both systems pass.
Forecast precipitation probabilities increase sharply by mid-week, with many northern towns showing a 60–80% chance of rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Areas such as Caribou, Presque Isle, Millinocket, Greenville, and Houlton are expected to be most impacted. Coastal communities could see periodic showers as early as Monday before the larger systems arrive.
With Thanksgiving travel ramping up, drivers should anticipate wet roads and possible slick spots across northern Maine later this week. Temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages through Tuesday before fluctuating during the mid-week storms.
