Mars Hill, ME – The Maine State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman suspected of committing bank fraud across the Bangor area and, most recently, in Aroostook County.

According to the Maine State Police, the individual allegedly carried out fraudulent activity at several banks in the Bangor region and most recently at a bank in Mars Hill on Friday. Authorities believe she may be driving a silver or gray Jeep Cherokee.

Police released a security image of the suspect, captured during one of the alleged incidents, and are urging anyone who recognizes her to come forward. Investigators say the woman may have been traveling between multiple communities in northern Maine, targeting financial institutions in each area.

Cpl. Ted Martin with the Maine State Police is leading the investigation and requests that anyone with information contact him directly at (207) 532-5400.

Authorities did not disclose the amount of money involved in the alleged fraud or whether the suspect has attempted additional transactions since the Mars Hill incident. The investigation remains active as police work to determine whether other cases across the state may be connected.

Residents and bank employees are encouraged to remain alert for any suspicious activity involving accounts or transactions that appear inconsistent with customer records.
