Shreveport, Louisiana – A cool, cloudy start to the day across the ArkLaTex will give way to a comfortable and seasonably mild afternoon, with temperatures warming steadily as sunshine becomes more widespread.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, morning low clouds will gradually thin through the day, allowing highs to climb into the mid and upper 50s across northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas. Farther south, including portions of Deep East Texas and central Louisiana, afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the lower to middle 60s as sunshine becomes more dominant.

Shreveport, Bossier City, Longview, Texarkana, and Monroe will all benefit from improving conditions through the afternoon, making for a pleasant end to the weekend. Light southeast winds will remain in place, keeping conditions calm and comfortable for outdoor activities and travel.

As evening sets in, clouds will begin to increase again, and temperatures will cool off overnight. Lows are expected to fall back into the 40s across much of the region, with some cooler pockets possible in outlying rural areas. While chilly, conditions will remain seasonable for early January.

This mild pattern is expected to hold into the start of the workweek, though changes later in the week could bring a shift in temperatures and additional weather concerns. Residents are encouraged to stay tuned for updated outlooks as the pattern evolves.
