Shreveport, LA – The National Weather Service in Shreveport warns of a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall and flash flooding across parts of Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma beginning Sunday evening and continuing through Monday night.
The heaviest rain is expected late Sunday night into Monday, with rainfall totals potentially reaching 2 to 4 inches in some areas. Forecasters estimate a 15% or greater chance for flash flooding, particularly in southeast Oklahoma and portions of northeast Texas, spreading southeastward through the ArkLaTex region.
Urban and low-lying areas may experience rapid runoff and localized flooding, especially where heavier downpours persist. The NWS urges residents to avoid flooded roads and to monitor local alerts for updates as the storm system moves through.
Conditions are expected to improve late Monday night as rain shifts eastward.
