Little Rock, AR – A warm and wetter-than-normal pattern is expected across Arkansas from Nov. 29th through Dec. 5th, with multiple rounds of rainfall impacting the state as December begins.

According to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, temperatures are projected to run above normal statewide, including central Arkansas around Little Rock, northern areas across the Ozarks, and southern regions stretching toward Pine Bluff, El Dorado, and Texarkana. With warm, moisture-rich air in place, all precipitation will fall as rain, eliminating any chance of early winter weather.

NOAA’s precipitation outlook also indicates a strong above-normal precipitation signal, suggesting several storm systems may track across the Mid-South throughout the week. Little Rock, Conway, and Benton may see frequent rain, with heavier bursts likely during stronger disturbances.

Northern Arkansas — including Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Harrison, and Mountain Home — may experience some of the highest rainfall totals, especially when moisture lifts into the Ozark foothills and plateaus.

Southern Arkansas — including Camden, Magnolia, Crossett, and Monticello — will also see steady rainfall, with patchy flooding possible in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

Forecasters stress that the setup is not one major storm but a multi-system wet pattern, capable of producing reduced visibility, ponding on roads, and slippery travel along I-40, I-30, I-49, and major state highways.

As December begins, Arkansas residents should prepare for a warm, humid, and rain-heavy stretch that may impact both daily commutes and outdoor plans.
