Little Rock, AR – Warm spring weather across central Arkansas will give way to gusty storms Sunday afternoon as a strong cold front approaches the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, showers and thunderstorms are likely after 1 p.m. Sunday with an 80% chance of precipitation, and some storms could become strong as winds increase ahead of the front. Afternoon temperatures will climb to around 76°F, while south winds strengthen to 15–20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph across the Little Rock metro.
Communities including North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood, and Jacksonville could experience heavy rain and gusty winds during the afternoon and evening hours as the storm line moves through Pulaski County.
Storms may continue into Sunday night with a chance of thunderstorms before 10 p.m., followed by scattered showers overnight. Temperatures will drop sharply behind the cold front with lows falling to around 27°F, accompanied by brisk northwest winds that could gust up to 35 mph.
Monday will feel dramatically colder with highs reaching only around 43°F under sunny skies and breezy conditions across central Arkansas.
