Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents should prepare for a week of high temperatures and potential rainfall. A cold front moving through today will cause high temperatures and elevated heat index values across the central and southern parts of the state. Rain chances are widespread, with some areas potentially receiving up to a half inch. According to the US National Weather Service Little Rock, temperatures will peak in the mid-90s, with heat indexes reaching up to 110 degrees in some areas.

The hottest conditions are expected in southern regions like Texarkana and El Dorado. While the northern parts of the state will see slightly cooler temperatures, the heat index will still be near 100 degrees. Rain chances will increase statewide, providing some relief from the intense heat. By Friday, there’s a possibility of more significant rainfall, which could help cool things down. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat.
