According to the US National Weather Service in Little Rock, temperatures will remain normal for this time of year, though still considerably high compared to the unusually warm weather experienced earlier. The heat index values are predicted to reach dangerous levels in some parts of the state today. Morning temperatures will range from the mid-60s to low 70s, with places like Little Rock seeing lows of around 70°F.
By this afternoon, high temperatures are forecasted to soar into the 90s statewide, with Little Rock expecting highs of 91°F and Russellville potentially reaching 92°F. The heat index values, which measure how hot it feels when humidity is factored in with the actual air temperature, will make it feel even hotter, reaching the mid to upper 90s in many areas.
Looking ahead, the forecast predicts continued high temperatures. Friday will see a high of 94°F, and Saturday will be even hotter at 98°F. While a slight chance of rain is expected on Sunday, temperatures will still reach 94°F. Early next week, temperatures will remain in the 90s, with Tuesday expected to hit 97°F and Wednesday around 95°F.
