Arkansas starts the day under clear skies and cool air, but changes are already lining up over Little Rock. Temperatures are climbing through the 40s late this morning and will reach near 60 degrees by afternoon, with sunshine giving way to increasing clouds.

According to the National Weather Service in North Little Rock, a 20% chance of showers develops after 5 p.m., followed by a 30% chance between 8 and 11 p.m. Rainfall amounts will remain light, but brief wet pavement could develop along I-30, I-40, and the Broadway Bridge during the evening drive.

Wet roads may develop quickly after sunset.

Northwest winds around 5 mph will turn easterly this afternoon, with gusts up to 20 mph at times. Skies turn mostly cloudy tonight as temperatures fall to 42 degrees.

Saturday brings a cooler feel. Highs reach 54 degrees under partly sunny skies, with northeast winds gusting to 20 mph. Clear skies Saturday night allow temperatures to drop to 31 degrees.

Sunday turns bright and crisp, with a high near 55. However, temperatures plunge to 26 degrees Sunday night under clear skies and light winds.

That hard freeze could impact early Monday travel.

Any lingering moisture could refreeze on bridges and overpasses, a classic late-February flash-freeze setup. Drivers should use caution before sunrise Monday.

Monday stays sunny with a high near 50 and another cold night near 26. By Tuesday, temperatures rebound to 57 degrees. Midweek readings surge into the upper 60s, and the 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal warmth across central Arkansas.

Five-Day Outlook for Little Rock:

  • Today: High 60°, slight evening shower chance.
  • Saturday: High 54°, breezy.
  • Sunday: Sunny, high 55°.
  • Monday: Sunny, high 50°.
  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, high 57°.
