Little Rock, AR – A strong thunderstorm is moving through southeastern Arkansas, bringing gusty winds and small hail to parts of Lonoke, Prairie, Jefferson, and Arkansas counties. The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a special weather statement, warning of potential impacts through 1:30 p.m. CDT.
According to Doppler radar, the storm was located near Pine Bluff Arsenal at 12:42 p.m., approximately seven miles north of Pine Bluff, and was traveling northeast at 55 mph. Forecasters noted the storm could produce wind gusts exceeding 40 mph and hail up to half an inch in diameter.
Residents in affected areas, including Stuttgart, Humnoke, and Wabbaseka, should be prepared for minor damage to outdoor objects and the potential for unsecured items to be blown around. The storm’s rapid movement means conditions may change quickly.
Authorities advise residents to seek shelter if outdoors and remain alert to changing weather conditions. While this storm is not currently classified as severe, continued monitoring is recommended.
