Little Rock, AR – A powerful cold front will sweep across Arkansas on Sunday, bringing widespread severe thunderstorms, large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado risk, especially in central and eastern parts of the state, including Little Rock.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, storms are expected to begin Sunday afternoon and continue into the evening. The system will move west to east, with the greatest threats emerging after 4 p.m. Residents in Pulaski, Saline, Lonoke, and surrounding counties should prepare for rapidly changing conditions and possible storm warnings.
By midweek, the threat shifts to excessive rainfall. Forecasters say heavy rain beginning Wednesday may lead to flash flooding, especially along low-lying areas and near rivers. Areas near Highway 67 and the Arkansas River should be monitored closely as saturated ground increases runoff risks.
