Little Rock, Arkansas – Cooler, drier air is settling across Arkansas Friday evening, bringing overnight lows into the 50s and setting up a crisp, comfortable start to the weekend across much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, high pressure and northerly winds will usher in noticeably drier conditions through Saturday, with dew point temperatures falling into the 50s. Lows by early Saturday morning will dip into the upper 50s to low 60s in cities like Harrison, Camden, and Mountain Home, with daytime highs peaking in the low 80s statewide.

However, the calm will be short-lived. A quick burst of rainfall is expected late Saturday night into early Sunday as a fast-moving system tracks in from the northern Plains. Rain chances will ramp up overnight, especially across western and central Arkansas, with scattered showers potentially lingering into early Sunday.

Little Rock, Pine Bluff, and Monticello could see rain begin after midnight, with drier conditions returning by late Sunday afternoon. Drivers should use caution during early Sunday travel due to slick roads.

Rain chances return again late Tuesday, with a wetter pattern likely continuing into midweek.
