Little Rock, Arkansas – Rain and isolated storms are expected to sweep through Arkansas late Saturday afternoon and into the evening, with the heaviest chances focused on the western part of the state. Fayetteville and surrounding areas are looking at a 70% chance of rain, while other regions, such as Hot Springs and Russellville, are seeing precipitation probabilities ranging from 49% to 68%.
According to the National Weather Service, these storm chances will increase significantly as the day progresses, with much of central and southern Arkansas experiencing mild rainfall. Little Rock is seeing a 54% chance of rain, while the southeastern region, including Pine Bluff and Monticello, will have a lower chance, at 24% to 34%.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the 70s and 80s across the state. Fayetteville, Harrison, and Fort Smith will experience highs in the low 80s, with the hottest areas being in the south, including El Dorado and Texarkana, which could see highs in the upper 80s. For the northern regions, expect cooler temperatures, with highs around 70°F.
In addition to rain chances, overnight lows will be mild, ranging from 57°F in Harrison to 65°F in El Dorado. Travelers across the western half of the state should be prepared for wet roads and possible localized flooding, especially in areas experiencing heavier rainfall.
