Little Rock, AR – A fast-moving weather system is set to impact Arkansas Thursday afternoon, bringing severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and the possibility of quarter-sized hail, especially in the eastern parts of the state. The National Weather Service is warning of damaging winds and large hail as the storm moves southeast across the region.

According to the NWS, the best chances for severe thunderstorms will be in the northeast and far eastern areas of Arkansas, with the greatest threat expected from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Areas like Jonesboro, West Memphis, and Conway could experience the strongest storms, with wind speeds potentially reaching 60 mph and hail as large as a quarter inch.

In addition to the storms, temperatures are forecast to remain mild, with highs ranging from 70°F to 75°F across the state. Overnight lows will drop into the low 50s, creating cooler conditions ahead of the storm.

Residents are advised to stay alert for updates and take necessary precautions, especially in regions under the slight risk of severe weather.
