Little Rock, AR – The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a Frost Advisory for much of Arkansas, in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. CST Monday. Temperatures are expected to dip to around 33 degrees, allowing frost to form across large portions of the state.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory covers a wide area, including central, eastern, northern, and southwestern counties such as Pulaski, Faulkner, Garland, Baxter, Jefferson, and Drew. Areas most affected will experience the coldest conditions just before sunrise Monday.
The NWS warns that the frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if not properly covered or brought indoors. Residents are urged to take precautions tonight, especially those with gardens or newly planted vegetation.
While no hard freeze is expected, this marks one of the first widespread frost events of the season across Arkansas. Meteorologists advise that temperatures will begin to rise again later Monday morning as sunlight returns.
Motorists are also encouraged to watch for frosty windshields or slippery surfaces during the early commute.
This advisory will expire at 9 a.m. CST Monday, as temperatures warm into the 50s by midday.
