A thick gray fog hangs low over central Arkansas this morning, wrapping fields, highways, and neighborhoods in still, damp air. Drivers heading through Little Rock or along Interstate 30 and I-40 will face limited visibility and slick spots on bridges and overpasses — especially where early morning temperatures flirt with freezing.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 a.m. CST, covering much of central, eastern, and southern Arkansas. Visibility could drop below a quarter mile in some valleys and low-lying routes. In addition, patchy frost may form where fog meets near-freezing air, creating potential black ice on untreated surfaces.

Motorists are urged to reduce speed, use headlights, and leave extra distance between vehicles. Once the fog lifts by midmorning, skies will turn partly cloudy with highs near 54°F, making for a mild December afternoon.

By Monday, sunshine takes hold across most of the state, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Tuesday and Wednesday bring warmer air — topping out in the mid- to upper 50s — under clear skies and calm winds. A weak front late in the week could bring cooler air but no major rain threat.

Looking ahead, forecasters note that long-range models suggest a cold push between December 11–17, bringing frost and possible light wintry precipitation north of Arkansas. For now, the Natural State enjoys a mild stretch before true winter returns midmonth.

Five-Day Outlook (Little Rock, AR):
