Little Rock, AR – Drivers in central and northern Arkansas are urged to exercise caution as dense fog blankets the region this morning. Visibility is expected to drop to a quarter-mile or less, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, the dense fog advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday. Counties under the advisory include Faulkner, Pulaski, Saline, White, and Independence. Drivers should reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and maintain extra following distance to ensure safety during their morning commutes.

Looking ahead, conditions are expected to improve later today as temperatures rise, dissipating the fog. However, more severe weather is forecast for Arkansas starting Thursday evening. A slight risk of severe thunderstorms is predicted, particularly in southwestern and south-central areas. The storms could bring large hail, damaging winds, and a potential for isolated tornadoes.

For those traveling this weekend, rain chances continue through Friday, with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to upper 60s. Cooler and clearer conditions are expected by Sunday.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates and prepare for potentially hazardous driving and travel conditions today and tomorrow. Stay tuned for the latest updates from the National Weather Service.
