According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, an Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. CDT Wednesday, with heat index values soaring as high as 113° in parts of Pulaski, Lonoke, Jefferson, and surrounding counties. A Heat Advisory will then follow until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, keeping outdoor safety top of mind across central Arkansas.

Expect actual highs near 100°, but it will feel significantly hotter, especially on city roadways like I-630 and I-30 where pavement and vehicles intensify the heat. Residents are urged to stay in air-conditioned spaces, limit outdoor activity, and drink plenty of water.
