Little Rock, AR – Triple-digit heat index values will grip much of Arkansas by Wednesday afternoon as sunny skies and rising humidity levels push real-feel temperatures close to 100°F. With daytime highs nearing 96°F by Friday, health officials are urging residents to take heat safety precautions as the state enters a prolonged stretch of dangerously warm weather.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, calm winds and clear skies will dominate through the weekend, allowing daily high temperatures to steadily climb into the mid-90s. Tuesday will start the trend with a high near 92°F, followed by 93°F Wednesday and 95°F Thursday, peaking near 96°F on Friday. While actual temperatures remain just below heat advisory thresholds, humidity could push heat index values several degrees higher.

Tuesday: Sunny, high of 92°F with light northeast winds.
Wednesday: High of 93°F, heat index up to 97°F. Clear overnight with a low around 71°F.
Thursday: Sunny and hotter, with a high near 95°F.
Friday: Peak heat expected with a high near 96°F and mostly calm conditions.
Saturday: Slight relief possible but still hot, with sunshine and a high near 96°F.

With little to no cloud cover or rainfall expected through at least Sunday, residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on elderly neighbors and pets. While Monday may bring a slight 20% chance of thunderstorms, the state remains locked in a dry, heat-dominant pattern until then.
