Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents are in for a challenging weekend as brutal heat and severe weather are expected to impact the state through Sunday. High temperatures across much of Arkansas are forecasted to reach or exceed 100 degrees, with some areas like Little Rock predicted to hit 104 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, the most intense heat is expected Friday afternoon, with heat index values potentially reaching as high as 115 degrees. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, urging residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

In addition to the heat, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated Friday evening, particularly in northwestern Arkansas. The chances of severe weather will increase on Saturday and Sunday, with potential threats including large hail and damaging winds.
