Little Rock, AR – After a brief dry spell to start the week, rain and cooler temperatures are expected to return to Arkansas beginning Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

Forecasters say light showers are possible Sunday afternoon and evening, followed by a short break in precipitation Monday into early Tuesday. A more organized round of rain is forecast to develop Tuesday and continue into midweek, bringing widespread wet conditions across central and northern Arkansas.

According to NWS data, rain chances climb to around 65–75% in areas such as Harrison, Russellville, and Pocahontas by Tuesday evening. Temperatures will stay below seasonal averages, with daytime highs mainly in the 50s and overnight lows dipping into the 40s.

While no severe weather is anticipated, persistent cool and damp conditions could linger through Thursday before a gradual drying trend late in the week. Friday’s forecast suggests improving skies and slightly warmer temperatures heading into Halloween weekend.

Residents are encouraged to keep umbrellas and jackets handy, especially for the midweek commute. Drivers should also watch for slick roads during heavier periods of rain.

This pattern marks a shift toward more typical late-October weather as cooler air settles across the region behind a series of weak fronts.
