Memphis, TN – The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Dense Fog Advisory across large portions of the Mid-South, warning that visibility may drop to one-quarter mile or less through 9 a.m. CST Saturday.
The advisory covers parts of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee, including major cities such as Memphis, Jonesboro, Jackson, Corinth, and Blytheville. Motorists traveling along Interstates 40, 55, and 22 should expect dangerously low visibility, particularly in rural and low-lying areas.
Meteorologists caution that the fog could make driving conditions hazardous, urging residents to slow down, use headlights, and increase following distances. The fog is expected to lift gradually by late morning as temperatures rise.
The NWS notes that these conditions developed under calm winds and high humidity following recent rainfall—typical for early November across the region. Drivers should plan for extra travel time during the morning commute.
