Lake Village, AR – An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Lake Village resident last week.
According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP), special agents with the Criminal Investigation Division, assisted by the Lake Village Police Department (LVPD), took Anthony Adams, 18, into custody on Friday. Authorities allege Adams is responsible for the death of 65-year-old Willie McCree, also of Lake Village.
Police said the case began on Wednesday around 8 p.m., when LVPD officers responded to a welfare check in the 300 block of Black Street. Inside the residence, officers reportedly discovered McCree deceased. LVPD then requested ASP investigators to assist with the case.
Adams was arrested and transported to the Lake Village Jail, where he was charged with first-degree murder, according to officials. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory is conducting further examination to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding a possible motive, but the investigation remains ongoing.
