Little Rock, Ark. – Summer heat is ramping up again in Arkansas, with dangerous heat index values approaching 106°F expected by Tuesday afternoon across central counties, including Little Rock.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Monday, and more dangerous heat is likely through the rest of the week. Tuesday’s high in Little Rock is forecast to hit 94°F, but the heat index could push past 103°F by 3 p.m. Drivers on Interstate 30 and I-630 should be prepared for slick roads from isolated storms and extra engine stress in high temperatures.

No organized severe weather is expected through Sunday, but daily highs will stay in the mid to upper 90s, with heat index values frequently exceeding 105°F for southern and central Arkansas.

Stay weather-aware this week and limit strenuous activity during the late afternoon hours.
