
Pottsville, AR – Arkansas State Police say a routine traffic stop early Wednesday led to a major drug seizure along Interstate 40 in Pope County.
According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), troopers pulled over a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze traveling eastbound near the 87-mile marker of I-40 around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. During the stop, investigators reportedly discovered two large trash bags in the trunk containing approximately 45 pounds of marijuana.
The driver, identified as Breon Desean Baker, 28, of Little Rock, was taken into custody without incident. Authorities said Baker was transported to the Pope County Detention Center and booked on felony charges of Possession with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The stop took place near Pottsville, a city in Pope County about 90 miles northwest of Little Rock. State police say the large seizure highlights continued efforts to intercept narcotics traveling along Arkansas interstates.
