Arkansas State Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver in Fatal Polk County Cyclist Crash

Mena, Ark. – Arkansas State Police are actively searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed an 18-year-old cyclist on Thursday night. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. along State Highway 8 East, near the intersection of State Highway 375 and Lorelei Way.

According to Arkansas State Police, the young cyclist was traveling westbound in the center of the lane when an unidentified vehicle struck him. The impact wedged the victim’s bicycle under the vehicle, which dragged him 20 to 30 yards before the bike was dislodged. The driver fled the scene, leaving the cyclist fatally injured.
