Arkansas State Police Investigating Rockport Homicide

Rockport, AR – A Rockport woman was found dead Sunday afternoon, prompting a homicide investigation by the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division.

According to the Rockport Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of Division Street around 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 50-year-old Marisela McHan deceased inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.

Authorities took the victim’s husband, 51-year-old Floyd McHan, into custody. He has been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

The victim’s body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further examination. The investigation remains ongoing.
