Arkansas State Police Investigate Teen’s Death in Dumas Homicide

Dumas police are investigating a homicide after officers found a 15-year-old boy fatally shot late Tuesday night.

Police discovered the body around 10:15 p.m. behind the Pendleton Apartments near Short Street Park. Officers arrived and found the teen lying in an alleyway with gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders pronounced the boy dead at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Desha County Coroner. Authorities will transport the body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause of death.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is leading the case at the request of Dumas police. Officials have not released the victim’s name or details about possible suspects.

Investigators urge anyone with information to contact the Dumas Police Department.

The investigation remains active.
