Little Rock, Arkansas – Rain chances climb Sunday afternoon across central Arkansas as an unsettled spring weather pattern returns, bringing scattered thunderstorms and the potential for heavy downpours through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, there’s a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the metro area between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday. Showers may briefly clear overnight before stronger weather builds Monday and Tuesday. Thunderstorm risks increase again Tuesday night, when a 60% chance of rain and lightning is expected between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Residents traveling along I-30 or Highway 67 should use caution, especially late Tuesday when storms could impact early commutes or overnight travel. While no severe weather is forecast yet, gusty winds and lightning could still create hazards.

Spring temperatures will remain above average through the week, with daily highs in the mid-to-upper 80s through Wednesday. Monday will be the hottest day, reaching 88°F under mostly sunny skies. Winds may gust up to 20 mph at times.
