Little Rock, AR – A storm system will bring rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to central Arkansas on Tuesday, creating hazardous conditions for morning and afternoon commuters. Residents should prepare for downpours, with winds reaching up to 35 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will begin overnight Monday, with the heaviest rain and possible thunderstorms arriving by Tuesday afternoon. Winds from the south-southeast at 15-20 mph could produce gusts up to 35 mph, making travel difficult, especially on highways like I-30 and I-40. The chance of precipitation is 100%, with a risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Tuesday night will bring partly cloudy skies and cooler air, with lows dropping to 43°F. Winds will shift from the southwest, keeping gusty conditions in place.

By Wednesday, sunshine returns, though temperatures will be noticeably cooler, with highs reaching only 53°F. Winds from the northwest at 15-20 mph will make it feel even chillier. The cooldown continues into Wednesday night, with temperatures falling to 32°F.

Thursday brings a return of mild weather, with sunny skies and a high near 57°F. Light winds and dry conditions will continue into Friday, with highs warming to the upper 60s.

Looking ahead, another chance of showers develops Saturday, with a 40% chance of rain. By Sunday, however, sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s should bring a pleasant end to the weekend.
