Little Rock, AR – After a weekend of scorching triple-digit temperatures, Arkansas is set to experience a much-needed break from the intense heat. Highs on Monday are forecasted to be significantly cooler, with temperatures dropping by as much as 20 degrees in some areas compared to Sunday’s record-breaking highs.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, Sunday’s extreme heat saw several locations across the state, including Little Rock, Texarkana, and Monticello, reaching or exceeding 105 degrees. However, relief is in sight, as Monday’s forecast predicts highs in the mid-80s to mid-90s, providing a considerable respite from the heat.

Rain chances are also on the rise, particularly in the western two-thirds of the state, where showers are expected through the morning. After this brief period of rain, the remainder of the week is likely to remain dry with little to no precipitation.

The cooler temperatures and increased rain chances are a welcome change after the sweltering heat, which pushed Arkansas residents to their limits. As the week progresses, residents can expect milder weather conditions, bringing some relief from the recent oppressive heat.
