Little Rock, AR – Bitter cold and lingering snow are creating hazardous travel conditions across Arkansas through Thursday. Residents should prepare for dangerously low wind chills and icy roads.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain in the teens and 20s, with wind chills dropping below zero overnight. Winds of 15 to 25 mph will create blowing snow, reducing visibility. Light snow and freezing rain could lead to slick roads, especially on I-40 and I-30.

Thursday will bring partly sunny skies but continued cold, with highs around 26°F. By Thursday night, lows will dip to 13°F, with calmer winds. The weekend, however, will offer relief as temperatures gradually climb into the 40s, bringing a much-needed warmup.

Travelers should use caution, especially in rural areas where road treatments may be limited. Authorities urge residents to dress in layers and limit outdoor exposure due to extreme cold risks.

Stay updated on changing conditions and be prepared for refreezing overnight. Warmer temperatures are expected by Saturday, signaling a break from the arctic air.
