HAMPTON, Ark. – A Hampton woman died following an alleged assault at her home Sunday morning, and state police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with her death.
According to the Arkansas State Police, officers and emergency medical crews were called to a residence in the 600 block of South 2nd Street at about 6 a.m. Sunday. First responders found Katherine Brice, 62, of Hampton, unconscious and suffering from injuries. She was transported to UAMS in Little Rock, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division took over the case at the request of the Hampton Police Department. Following their investigation, Special Agents arrested Roderick Freemont, 55, and charged him with First-Degree Murder in Brice’s death. Freemont was booked into the Calhoun County Detention Center.
