Bryant, AR – Arkansas State Police Troopers arrested four Texas men Friday in Bryant following a traffic stop, after authorities say the suspects were allegedly linked to an attempted ATM theft and fatal shooting earlier that morning in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
According to Arkansas State Police, the stop occurred around mile marker 122 on Interstate 30, when Troopers pulled over a 2021 Chevy Blazer for a traffic violation. Information shared by Tennessee authorities indicated the vehicle may have been allegedly involved in an attempted robbery at a Murfreesboro convenience store just hours before.
Troopers identified the suspects as Tyron Patton, 27, Meki Hill, 24, Deandre Hanks, 21, and Khamandre Phillips, 24—all Texas residents. Authorities said the men were arrested without incident and transported to the Saline County Detention Center on felony warrants connected to the alleged Tennessee ATM theft. They are currently awaiting extradition to Tennessee to face charges.
Arkansas State Police Colonel Mike Hagar credited the arrests to efficient action and close collaboration between agencies, saying, “The efficient actions of our Troopers, along with strong coordination with out-of-state law enforcement, led to these arrests and helped prevent further criminal activity.”
According to Murfreesboro Police, the attempted robbery took place around 5 a.m. Friday at a gas station on East Northfield Boulevard. The suspects, allegedly using a sledgehammer to break into the ATM, fled the scene after an armed bystander fired at them, allegedly striking and killing one of the men involved.
Authorities have not released the name of the deceased. The four suspects remain in custody in Arkansas as extradition proceedings continue.
