Arkansas, Missouri, and Mississippi Tornadoes Leave Damage but No Fatalities

Little Rock, AR – A series of tornadoes impacted multiple states across the South on March 14-15, bringing significant damage but no reported fatalities. Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee experienced twisters of varying intensities, with the strongest storms hitting Arkansas and Missouri.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the most powerful tornadoes included an EF-2 in Corning, Arkansas, with peak winds of 120 mph and a 12.55-mile path, and another EF-2 in Kennett, Missouri, with 120 mph winds and a path stretching 19.63 miles. Additionally, an EF-2 in Paragould, Arkansas, had peak winds of 125 mph, injuring four people.

Mississippi saw two weaker EF-1 tornadoes in Chickasaw County and Vardaman, with peak winds of 105 mph. Meanwhile, Hardeman County, Tennessee, reported an EF-0 tornado with 75 mph winds. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were recorded in these states.

Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant as severe weather season continues. Tornado preparedness measures, including emergency kits and safe shelter plans, are recommended. The NWS continues to assess damage and urges residents to monitor forecasts for future storm risks.
