Arkansas – Thick fog is clinging to downtown Little Rock this morning, blurring headlights and cutting visibility to a quarter mile at times. At 39 degrees with calm winds, mist hangs over the Arkansas River and bridges along I-30 and I-40. If you’re driving, slow down and use low-beam headlights.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Visibility may drop below one-quarter mile in pockets, especially near low-lying areas and river valleys. Conditions should steadily improve late this morning as sunshine develops.
Once the fog lifts, temperatures climb to near 64 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Winds remain light before turning southeast this afternoon. Tonight stays mild with lows near 46 and mostly cloudy skies.
Tuesday warms to around 69 degrees with a light south wind. By Wednesday, highs reach 73 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. That midweek warmup sets the tone for a springlike stretch across central Arkansas.
Thursday turns even warmer, reaching 77 degrees with mostly sunny skies. A slight chance of showers arrives Thursday night. By Friday afternoon, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms develops. Brief heavy rain could reduce visibility during peak travel times.
No snow or ice is expected, but early-morning fog can create slick spots where moisture settles. Flash freezing is not a concern with temperatures well above freezing after sunrise.
Looking ahead into President’s Day week, above-normal temperatures appear likely to continue, bringing more spring vibes to the Natural State.
