According to the Arkansas State Police, Jeffery Stansbery of St. Joe pleaded guilty Friday, October 3, 2025, in Searcy County Circuit Court to Capital Murder and Abuse of a Corpse in connection with the death of his wife, 43-year-old Amanda Stansbery.
The case began on September 5, 2024, when Searcy County deputies discovered Amanda Stansbery deceased inside the couple’s home on Chipley Road. Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division was called in to assist with the homicide investigation.
Deputies were initially dispatched after Stansbery allegedly told staff at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri, that he had harmed his wife. He had gone to the hospital for unrelated medical treatment at the time.
