Delight, AR — A Delight man was sentenced this week to 25 years in prison after pleading no contest to a second-degree murder charge connected to a 2024 shooting death in Pike County.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Christian Buster, 31, entered the plea on Monday, August 22. He was accused in the death of Oscar Alba, 34, also of Delight. Investigators said the shooting took place at Buster’s residence along Highway 26 East on April 27, 2024.

Court officials reported Buster was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, with 10 years of that sentence suspended. He also received a five-year enhancement for use of a firearm, which will run consecutively.

Authorities said Buster was employed as a jailer and dispatcher with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office at the time of the shooting.
