Shreveport, LA — Freezing rain and sleet are set to impact parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas from Tuesday evening through early Wednesday, creating hazardous travel conditions and potential power outages.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday for southwest Arkansas, north-central and northwest Louisiana, and northeast Texas. Ice accumulations of up to several hundredths of an inch are expected, making roads, sidewalks, and bridges dangerously slippery.
In southwest Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma, including De Queen, Nashville, and Idabel, mixed precipitation will begin at noon Tuesday, lasting until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Snow and sleet may accumulate up to half an inch, with ice accumulations possibly reaching two-tenths of an inch.
