Little Rock, AR – The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued dual alerts across Arkansas, warning of dense fog Saturday morning followed by a hard freeze late Sunday night through Monday morning.

According to the weather service, temperatures could fall as low as 17°F in portions of north and western Arkansas, while much of central and southern Arkansas may dip into the lower 20s. The freeze watch remains in effect from Sunday evening through Monday morning, with the fog advisory valid until 9 a.m. Saturday.

The agency warns that frost and freeze conditions may kill crops, damage outdoor plants, and burst unprotected plumbing. Drivers are also urged to use caution this morning, as dense fog may reduce visibility to less than a quarter mile in several counties, including Pulaski, Faulkner, Garland, and Jefferson.

Residents should wrap exposed pipes, bring pets indoors, and cover sensitive plants ahead of Sunday night’s plunge. This event is expected to mark one of the coldest nights of the season so far for much of Arkansas.
