Arkansas Flood Warning: White River and Cache River Levels Remain High Until March 15

Little Rock, AR – Flood warnings remain in effect for several rivers across Arkansas, with the National Weather Service (NWS) predicting continued high water levels through at least March 15. Areas along the White River and Cache River are experiencing minor flooding, impacting multiple counties.

According to the NWS in Little Rock, the White River at Clarendon, affecting Arkansas and Monroe counties, remains above its flood stage of 26.0 feet, with the latest reading at 27.8 feet as of Friday night. The river is expected to gradually recede but will remain in minor flood stage through the upcoming week. Flooding is affecting cropland, timberland, and portions of the National Wildlife Refuge downstream of Clarendon.

Further upstream, the White River at Augusta, impacting White and Woodruff counties, has also exceeded its flood stage of 26.0 feet. The river is forecast to crest at 29.0 feet on Saturday before slowly declining. Flooded roads in the Henry Gray Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area and thousands of acres of cultivated land remain underwater.

Additionally, the Cache River near Patterson in Woodruff and Jackson counties continues to see minor flooding. The water level was recorded at 10.1 feet Friday night, with slow recession expected in the coming days. Portions of State Highway 37 and county roads are affected.

Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to avoid flooded roads and heed local advisories. The NWS advises monitoring updates at www.weather.gov/lzk.
