Jonesboro, AR – A flash flood warning remains in effect for parts of eastern Arkansas and northeastern Dunklin County, Missouri, with ongoing heavy rain and the potential for further flooding. The warning is set to last until 2:15 AM CDT on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

The National Weather Service reports that thunderstorms are producing intense rainfall, with between 1 and 3 inches already fallen in the warned area. Additional rainfall of up to 3 inches is possible, which could lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas, small creeks, and urban streets. The impacted areas include Jonesboro, Paragould, Piggott, and several other towns.

Residents in these locations should avoid traveling on flooded roads. Flash floods can develop rapidly, and night conditions make it harder to recognize the danger. Be aware of poor drainage and low-lying areas that are especially vulnerable.

The National Weather Service urges drivers to “turn around, don’t drown” when encountering flooded roads. Stay tuned for further updates on the situation as conditions continue to evolve.
