Little Rock, AR – A Red Flag Warning has been issued for much of Arkansas from 1 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday due to dangerous wildfire conditions, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock announced.

According to the NWS, critical fire weather conditions will impact multiple counties, including Marion, Baxter, Boone, and others. Southerly winds are expected to reach sustained speeds of 15 to 30 mph, with gusts exceeding 40 mph. Additionally, humidity levels will drop below 25%, creating an environment conducive to rapid fire spread.

Officials warn that any fires that develop could spread uncontrollably. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged, and residents are urged to exercise extreme caution with any activities that could ignite fires.

Emergency officials advise residents to secure loose outdoor objects, avoid burning debris, and report any signs of wildfire activity immediately. Fire departments and emergency response teams across the affected areas are on high alert.

A Red Flag Warning indicates that a combination of strong winds, low humidity, and warm temperatures can lead to extreme fire behavior. Residents should stay updated with local emergency management agencies and the NWS for real-time information on fire risks and potential evacuations.
