Little Rock, Arkansas – Springlike warmth will continue across Arkansas in the Feb. 21–27 window, but a wetter trend is beginning to take shape as rain chances increase statewide.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, Arkansas remains in a 70% to 80% probability zone for above-normal temperatures during the 8- to 14-day outlook. That signals a sustained warm pattern, with afternoon highs running several degrees above late-February averages from Fayetteville to Pine Bluff and Jonesboro.

The key shift is in precipitation. Rain probabilities have increased to a 50% to 60% chance of above-normal rainfall, favoring multiple systems moving through the Lower Mississippi Valley. Central Arkansas, including Little Rock and Conway, may see repeated rounds of showers. Northern counties near Harrison and Mountain Home could experience steadier rainfall at times if storm tracks shift slightly north. Southern Arkansas, including El Dorado and Texarkana, may also see periodic rain with brief heavier downpours.

Drivers should prepare for wet stretches along I-30, I-40 and I-49, especially during heavier rain when visibility can drop and water may pond on roadways.

The broader pattern favors sustained warmth paired with increasing rain chances rather than a return to winter cold. Additional updates from the National Weather Service may refine rainfall timing and totals as late February approaches.
