Little Rock, AR – Arkansas is bracing for a dangerously hot day as temperatures are set to climb well into the 90s, with heat index values expected to soar above 110 degrees in many areas. According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, the combination of high temperatures and humidity will make for extremely hazardous conditions, especially in the northern and central regions of the state.

Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories are in effect across Arkansas today, particularly impacting areas like Harrison, Mountain View, and Russellville, where the heat index could surpass 115 degrees. The NWS advises residents to avoid outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and take breaks in air-conditioned environments.

The heat wave is not expected to ease up soon. The forecast shows temperatures remaining in the high 90s, with Little Rock reaching 98 degrees today, 99 degrees on Friday, and continuing to hover around 95 degrees over the weekend. Nighttime lows will provide little relief, staying in the upper 70s.
